James Cooper, MD
Dr. James A. Cooper is a board-certified Diagnostic Radiologist with fellowship training in Neuroradiology. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), and subsequently worked as a research assistant for the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. He then obtained his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Cooper completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology and a fellowship in Neuroradiology at Yale New Haven Hospital, where he also served as Chief Resident in Radiology.
Dr. Cooper joined Imaging Healthcare Specialists in 1998, bringing extensive expertise in various Diagnostic Medical Imaging modalities. He is particularly skilled in interventional procedures, including ultrasound-guided needle aspiration and biopsy.
Beyond his medical career, Dr. Cooper is also recognized as one of the world’s leading medical illustrators. While in medical school, he took elective courses in Medical Illustration at the Cleveland Institute of Art. His contributions to the field are notable, with his work published in every issue of Radiographics, a major international diagnostic radiology journal, since July 1994. Dr. Cooper also holds Certified Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Neuroradiology, the highest board certification available in the specialty.
